Balkan Brewery & Bar Reviews

Serbia and The Balkans is still a mystery to much of the world.  For the typical beer geek – tired of industrial lagers – it’s difficult finding good craft beer in these less-traveled countries.  Since I live in Belgrade, I’m able to spend long and tiring hours of research searching for craft beer bars in the far corners of the Balkans.  (Just kidding, I enjoy every drunken moment of it.)

On Pivoslavija, I have provided maps of bars, breweries and brewpubs that have craft beer in The Balkan region.  Using these maps, it will be easier to hunt down those elusive craft beer spots.

But the maps only tell you where to go.  In this section, I provide more detailed reviews of my experiences in the craft beer places I’ve visited in The Balkans.  Too often, a fancy-looking downtown brewpub turned out to be a terrible tourist trap – offering “craft beer” consisting of a dark and a light beer.  On the other hand, an off-the-beaten path, small hole-in-the-wall became an amazing craft beer hidden gem.

Sometimes, those were the best nights too.
