Dogma Brewery Plutonium Orange Milkshake DIPA

Dogma Brewery Plutonium Milkshake DIPA

I doubt tourists expect to find “big beers” in The Balkans.  So it’s good to start Pivoslavija beer reviews with one of Serbia’s most extreme beers.  Dogma Brewery Plutonium Orange Milkshake DIPA is a mouthful to say, and a mouthful to drink as well.

This beer is the result of a collaboration with Russian microbrewery, Brighton Brewery.  It comes in at a heavy 7.5% ABV and 70 IBUs.  It contains loads of Citra hops, lactose for its milkshake name, and has a concentrate of orange juice.

True to its name, it does give off a radioactive glow and looks like preserved amber.  Pungent aromas of mandarin, papaya and mango are evident from a distance.  Its taste is more of the same mandarin, papaya and some pineapple, with just a touch of sweetness from the lactose.  The hops kick in right at the finish, and it’s creamy and filling.
