Sofia Beer Map
Sofia’s craft beer scene is not just the usual APAs and IPAs. In local beer shops you can find: real British cask ale, Bulgarian wine, artisan coffee, local mead and….mountain bikes? Although Vitosha Boulevard is the main pedestrian street, Tsar Shishman and Patrih Evtimii streets are the true “craft beer row” where you can pub crawl to most of the city center’s bars.
In the summer, the country’s biggest craft beer festival, Balkan Beer Bash, brings over 140 beers – both foreign and local – to the city. During the event, Sofia’s craft beer bars organize tastings, tap takeovers and more.
Outside of the center, you can reach several craft beer breweries around Sofia. First, spend the day touring a brewery. Then, return to the center, pub crawl at night, and stock up on bottles for your trip home. Bottleshops are everywhere here. Later, fill yourself up with Bulgarian ‘banitsa.’ (meat pita,) which, like much Balkan food, is great for soaking up alcohol.
