Belgrade Beer Map
Serbia’s capital, Belgrade, was always the center of Yugoslavia’s beer production. And currently, Belgrade is a hotspot for craft beer, not only in Serbia, but in The Balkans. What started with Samo Pivo bar a decade ago has expanded into dozens of craft beer bars and brewpubs within walking distance of the main city square, Trg Republika. But that’s just the center. There are many neighborhood craft beer bars and, of course, the breweries.
Besides craft beer bars, Belgrade has some of Europe’s best nightlife, so it is worth visiting the traditional kafanas and splavovi (boat clubs) for the experience. Still, one night of drinking industrial Jelen or LAV Pivo will leave you hurting for something better. After you’ve had your fill of Serbian rakija, it’s best to clear your head with a fresh Serbian craft beer. Unlike much of Europe, Serbia’s bars are usually open on Sundays.
There are enough craft bars for several pub crawl days. And when you get hungry, brewpubs like Dockers will fill you up. Finally, don’t forget, when you visit Serbia always say ‘Cheers’ – Živeli!
